Anna Bianca
On April 3, 1971, the 46 m long, 442 GRT Anna Bianca, built in 1920, was en route from Lipori to Toulon. During a storm off Giannutri she had damage to the steering gear and ran aground.
The ship changed names and owners several times and was sunk and raised again as AGRO near Bari during WW2. She was renamed the Anna Bianca in 1963.
At the time of the sinking, the Anna Bianca was carrying white pumice powder, which fueled rumors that she was transporting drugs.
Today, the Anna Bianca lies just off the island of Giannutri at a depth of 40-52 meters.
